Great dry erase board (2008-06-05)
The board is great. Installation was easier than I thought. The finish on the board frame is high quality and goes very well with my office. The board itself is good and erases easily with no ghosting. I like the barely visible dots on the board to guide. It makes my drawing neater. The pen tray is slightly on the small side and a bit flimsy. If the tray had more substance, I would have given 5 stars.
False Advertising (2007-09-01)
One of the two main reasons I purchased this white board is that it was advertised to be far more free of "ghosting" and residual markings after erasing than standard melamine white boards (ergo the name "Total Erase"). I quote:
"Easy to clean; never needs special cleaners
Surface is guaranteed by the manufacturer to resist staining and ghosting"
In fact, however, the "ghosting" and residual marking are noticeably worse than with my 30 year old melamine white board. It is also more difficult to clean and takes some time and effort with spray cleaner and paper towels. I did not discover these deficits until after I had drilled four 1/4" holes in my wall and spent considerable time and effort in mounting the thing. And when I tried to contact the manufacturer, I hit a brick wall.
On the plus side, the frame is more attractive than the aluminum ones.
